Trinity River Fishing Report 11/3 & 11/4 2024

An awesome weekend with special people. Special shout out to Eben Drucker for bringing his crew up here. Love this dude and his continued support for our program. The fishing was phenomenal. Weather was perfect and the stoke was high.

Above, you see Jacob with his 2nd adult steelhead. Yep, his 2nd! The little dude is only 11 years old and landed two adults his first day fishing on the Trinity. And behind and armada of boats too! I was blown away by his skills for how short he has been fly fishing. His Dad even said, "He is way better than me." HA!

Jacob also had his good buddy and baseball teammate on the boat with me as well weighing in at 12 years old! Basically a little Eben. Asher also got his first steelhead to the boat as well! Big or small, we love them all!! The actions was consistent all day with fish of all sizes and we were also "steelheaded" by a few adults as well. Great way to break in the youth and educate them that you can't win them all. They were sports about it and I'll have these two little pinches on my boat any day.

It's crazy how many people are on the Trinity now but it's also good to see people enjoying the outdoors. We opted for two parts of the river for the two days to show these guys how awesome this place can be and the differences from just a few miles up and downstream. Conditions are amazing right now. I have the day off and I have a 5 day stint ahead of me so I am going to take some time to get stuff done around the place and then go cast a line before the next set of trips. It's just too good NOT to fish. Lots of big and little fish around.

I also got to make Max and Isaac their first Special Beers. "Yum" was the consensus. These Dad's are what we call "Rad Dads". Eben's cousin Max also made it up from So Cal for his first fly fishing trip and landed a nice little guy to get the skunk off. The stoke was real and I love to see it.

There are a lot of fish in the system. A lot of boats where there are a lot of fish, but plenty of action to be had depending on how you approach the trip. Weather is looking dry for the next few days with a front possibly coming in this weekend. Sun outside as I type this but it is COLD in the mornings so prepare for proper cold but it then becomes VERY warm throughout the day.

As always you will get an option to get he Juicy Report for the paid Patreon subscription where I tell you all the extra extra goodies about the trip. But hopefully, you got a bit of stoke from this article and want to bring your family up for a rip sometime on the Taco boat.

We say goodbye to this post by giving Asher a huge congrats for landing his gold on his first weekend up to the Trinity. What a great fish to get to the net. Beauty!

Until next time boys.

If you want to get a trip, I have December 1-3 open and a bunch open days for January and Febrary. So check out the calendar and pick a day t hat works for you. Also, I work with an amazing group of guides, if I am booked out, I can get you in touch with some guys who are fun to fish with. Just holler.
