Before heading off the Isla Holbox, Mexico, I took out a group of guys on Cinco de Drinko. Yeah, I don’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo. My family never has. But anyways, I went fishing.
We had a great group of guys from the Bay Area show up for a group float. I had my cousin Cody and Luke Garity, Norcaltroutbum, help me on this trip.
The fish were gobbling! This was on of those trips I’ve been waiting for where when we get fish, they were very nice fish.
Great fishing throughout the day when they guys would put it down. We got plenty of grabs and really epic battles as well. I always write as if I am surprised on how hard these fish pull, and it could be my pea brain but yea, I am always surprised.
PMDs were on the menu again. I got to be honest, I have lost a lot of brain cells since this trip and I can hardly remember the flies I was using! Haha! Seems like the eats were allover the place but as long as you were at the right depth, you were good.
I have June 2-10th available in case you think you can get a float on the Lower Sac. Holler!
