What to expect
The Caribbean is a fly angler’s dream — crystal-clear flats, white sand, and shots at world-class species. Mornings are for hunting shadows, afternoons for salty snacks and cold beer. This isn’t your average beach vacation — it’s a full-send tropical fish mission with the Taco Fly Co. crew.
You’ll be sight fishing in gin-clear water, stalking bonefish, permit, and tarpon across endless tropical flats. Local guides know every ripple and shadow, putting you on fish with precision. This is the kind of trip where the sun’s always high, the vibes are always mellow, and the casts are always spicy.
THE FISHING
The target species changes depending on where we are going but these are the species you are expected to encounter along with the size rods you’d be using.
Bonefish tailing in ankle-deep water – 8 wts
Permit cruising along sandy flats – 9 wts
Tarpon smashing bait in lagoons -10-12 wts
Snook and snapper tucked into mangroves – 9-10 wts
Bonus reef days (jacks, barracuda, etc. if time and tides allow)
